2023年秋天，金康麗與何汝楫兩位加西知名藝術家帶領北一女八位校友組成繪畫團體，由兩位老師指導水墨畫與西畫創作。金康麗老師利用加拿大常見的薄木片素材，發展出獨特的木片山水畫技法，其中尤以楓木片的紋理及質感最適合展現山水畫意境，讓初學者也能夠快速上手，創作出古雅的山水畫作。
這次的師生聯展將展出經典鉅作《富春山居圖》的21世紀新演繹，一件為細緻且氣勢磅礴的大師作品，另一件則為充滿個人風格的接龍作品，從媒材到細節都充滿趣味。
元代畫家黃公望的《富春山居圖》原圖約690公分，曾因作為陪葬品險遭火毀，最終被分為兩段流傳：經修補的前段稱為「剩山圖」，佔原畫1/14，後段畫幅較長，稱為「無用師卷」，佔原畫12/14，另外有1/14的畫面被永久損毀。金康麗以明代畫家沈周的臨摹本為藍圖，重繪燒毀的部分，並結合「剩山圖」與「無用師卷」，於2016年在溫哥華首次展出大型木片畫作《山居圖》。這次展覽將是這件作品的全球第二次亮相。
2024年金老師與何老師指導北一八友展開特訓，挑戰臨摹《富春山居圖》，七位校友分工繪製八幅局部圖，金老師和何老師協助銜接和裱框，並由第八位校友藍文秀題字，最終完成全長約8.5公尺的楓木片水墨作品，每幅局部圖各具風格，展現創作者的個人特色。
除兩件《富春山居圖》大型作品之外，展覽還將呈現北一八友的個人創作，包括水墨畫、油畫、壓克力畫與書法等，精彩紛呈，誠邀各界先進好友蒞臨鑑賞指導。

In autumn 2023, renowned Canadian West Coast artists Connie King (金康麗) and Yue Chip Ho (何汝楫) led eight alumni from Taipei First Girls' High School (TFGH) in forming an art group, providing guidance in both ink painting and Western art. Connie King introduced a unique technique in wood landscape painting using locally sourced wood sheets, particularly emphasizing the grain and texture of maple wood, ideal for landscape ink painting. This material beautifully captures the essence of landscape art, allowing beginners to quickly create elegant, timeless pieces.
This joint student-teacher exhibition will feature two large-scale artworks as 21st-century reinterpretations of Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains (富春山居圖). One is a grand, intricate piece by Connie King, while the other is a collaborative artwork filled with individual expression, blending diverse media and details.
The original Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains by Yuan Dynasty artist Huang Gongwang (黃公望, 1269–1354) was approximately 21 feet long. Nearly destroyed by fire when used as a funerary artifact, it was preserved in two parts: the restored “Remaining Mountain” (剩山圖), which represents 1/14 of the original, and the longer “Wuyong Scroll” (無用師卷), comprising 12/14, with 1/14 permanently lost. Using Ming Dynasty artist Shen Zhou’s (沈周, 1427–1509) version as a blueprint, Connie King reimagined the missing sections, integrating “Remaining Mountain” and “Wuyong Scroll” into her grand wood piece, Dwelling in the Mountains (山居圖), first exhibited in Vancouver in 2016. This event will mark its second international showing.
In 2024, King and Ho conducted intensive training sessions for the students to create their rendition of Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains. Seven students collaborated on eight sections of the artwork, while King and Ho facilitated the assembly and mounting, with Jennifer Lan contributing calligraphy for a finishing touch. The result is an 8.5-meter maple wood ink landscape, with each section reflecting the individual style of its artist.
Alongside the two Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains pieces, the exhibition will present individual works by the eight TFGH alumni, including ink paintings, oil paintings, acrylics, and calligraphy. Art enthusiasts and friends are invited to appreciate these impressive works.
